WRITING AND SPEAKING
![]() |
Jeff is a freelance writer for various outdoor and dog related magazines. He has also published several hundred newspaper columns concerning companion animals, their care and training. Coupled with his writing, Jeff is also available to give dog training seminars for various audiences. He has spoken to church groups, neighborhood associations, search and rescue organizations, sporting groups, consumer trade shows, and other dog related gatherings. Presentation topics can be crafted to match the skill or experience level of each group. The focus, however, will always be toward building a better working relationship between the dog and owner. This relationship, whether working, hunting, or just being a companion is the core reason for training your dog and yourself. |
| Jeff is especially fond of speaking about hunting the uplands. He has over seven seasons as a head guide hunting quail, pheasant, and chukar on a large Southern ranch. This guiding coupled with his own lifetime of hunting affords him the ability to cover almost any aspect of gun dogs. Again, bird dogs are his passion and training and speaking about them is one of his great joys. |

Beyond dog training, Jeff has expertise in many outdoor endeavors such as hunting, trapping, and fishing. He has hunted and fished (and guided hunters and fisherman) extensively, guided and raced canoes, shot competitively, field trialed, and spent a lifetime studying firearms and their usage. In other words, if it can be done outside, Jeff will try it. If it can be done with a dog, he'll try to master it. |
